The Raptors 905 tipped off their final preseason with three Canadians starting in the lineup for the 905 in Negus Webster-Chan (2nd year), Richard Amardi and Aaron Best against the Erie Bayhawks. The 905 controlled the game on both ends of the floor as coach Stackhouse tested out different rotations and player match-ups for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Lorenzo Brown led the way with 20pts, 8rebs and 3asts while Edy Tavares added 14pts & 5rebs. The bench was solid for the 905 with Canadian Kaza Keane leading the way with 13pts, 4asts and 4rebs, Kennedy Meeks chipped in with 10pts, 4rebs and 3asts.
With media day this afternoon, the Raptors 905 announced Monday morning they have waived forward Jamaal Brantley, centre Liam McMorrow and guard Eric Washington. All three players appeared in both preseason contests. The roster currently stands at 13 players.
The following Raptors are eligible for assignment to Raptors 905 once the G-League season begins: Pascal Siakam, Jakob Poeltl, Fred VanVleet, Delon Wright, Norman Powell, Alfonzo McKinnie, OG Anunoby.
The roster for camp right now stands at 13 players. By Nov. 2, they have to trim that number down to 12. The two two-way players are a lock, and the Returning Rights and Affiliate players will be expected to make the team. That would leave nine players – Best, the four draft picks, and the four tryout players – competing for five spots or looking to steal a spot from one of the Returning Rights or Affiliate players. Media day this afternoon should clear this all up!
