The undefeated Fort Wayne Mad Ants were too much to handle for the Raptors 905, as the 905 fell to the 121-103. Even though the Mad Ants were on the road, it seemed that they were simply playing with a sense of swagger on the offensive end the 905 could not quell. Raptors 905 head coach Jerry Stackhouse commented on the confidence of the Mad Ants “That’s a confident team. When you come in winning 4, 5, 6 in a row, you’re confident and you feel like you’re going to win the game”
That confidence translated on the stat line for many Fort Wayne Mad Ants players. Both Travis Leslie and Alex Poythress were lights out, as both had 23 points. Poythress was 9 for 18 from the field while Leslie shot the rock at a blistering 75% from the field. The Mad Ants also received contributions from Jordan Lloyd and Stephan Hicks, who each had 17 points.
The big story for the 905 this game? The three point shot was killing the north side. The Mad Ants had 15 three on the 905 at a 46.9% clip. “They shot the three well. I thought some of them we could have contested a little harder and some of them I thought we contested pretty hard and they still made them.” said head coach Stackhouse
Offensively the 905 were not too bad in this game as well. Five of the 905 players reached double figures in scoring and as a team the 905 were able to also shoot 39% from the field. Fred VanVleet led the team in scoring with 19 points and 5 assists, while EJ Singler chipped in with 17 points. Jarrod Uthoff and Brady Heslip had 16 points for the team and C. J Leslie pitched in with 13.
Fortunately for the Raptors 905, they will get to see the Mad Ants again very soon. That game is December 1st and coach Stackhouse hopes to use that game as a well to develop his players “It’s good to know that were right back at it, we will look at some film… and again we’re playing our guys it’s about improvement for our guys.”
That Aforementioned game will be a home game once again for the 905 and on Facebook live.
